High School Programs

High school is the perfect time to begin considering teaching as a career.

Kentucky’s Teaching and Learning career pathway allows students to begin exploring teaching, acquiring skills that will be helpful as an educator and in other professions while earning credit toward their college degree. Ask your school counselor how to join other future teachers in your school or send them to Kentucky’s Grow Your Own webpage to get started!

Educators Rising is transforming how America develops aspiring teachers. Starting with high school students, Educators Rising provides passionate young people with hands-on teaching experience, sustains their interest in the profession and helps them cultivate the skills they need to be successful educators.

“I joined my school’s chapter during the beginning of my junior year. I only participated because some of my friends had joined, but it soon transformed my perception of the value of teaching. I will forever by thankful to Educators Rising for helping me discover my life’s purpose.”

“I want to be a teacher because I want to make an impact in my community. I want to reach these students or these youth that have no hope. I want to give them something to hope for, help them expand their knowledge, and help them believe in themselves.

Tamir Harper,
Educators Rising
2017-18 National Vice President
