School: Caverna High School, Caverna Independent
Grade/Subject: Math
Years of Experience: 5

I chose to become a teacher in order to give students what I didn’t have when I was in school. I wanted to be the teacher that I needed when I was younger and I strive to be the teacher that incorporates fun and active learning in the classroom!

My favorite thing is building relationships with my students. Seeing them grow and learn about math and life all at the same time is a great joy. I love to see when they go to college and trade school and continue pathways to make a life for themselves! Their smiles, hugs and stories always ensure me that I’m making an impact and that it will be a great day!

When I’m not teaching I’m typically on the road with bands and attending concerts. I help with load in/load out, stage management, as well as concert photography for various bands. If I’m not on the road, I’m often found at home reading.

If I was to have a superpower I would want to be able to duplicate myself. I would love to be in two places at once sometimes! Relaxing in one form of myself and then being on the go in another form of self would be amazing.
