The Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) in Kentucky is responsible for issuing and renewing certificates for all Kentucky teachers and administrators.
EPSB is staffed by the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness and works closely with local school districts in the hiring process to ensure properly credentialed educators in every Kentucky school.
Candidates for new certification who have completed an approved educator preparation program in Kentucky, who are seeking a rank change based on an approved Kentucky program or are out-of-state applicants must complete and submit the paper version of the CA-1.
If you have not completed an approved educator preparation program you also can consider some alternative pathways to teaching certification.
