I became a teacher to help inspire students. I want to be a positive influence on my students lives. Some students don’t always have the positive light in their life or someone that they can talk to. I want to be that person for my students. I want them to feel comfortable in class and have them feel like we are a family at school. The more comfortable students are, the better they will learn and it is my responsibility to help them feel like family while in my classroom.

My favorite thing about being a teacher is the relationships that I am building with my students. I love that I am able to connect with my students and share interests with them. I feel being involved with other aspects of their life is also important. Going to basketball games, academic matches, anything the students have outside of school hours becomes a great way for me to show them that I support them in all aspects of their life. That is what I feel is helping me build these positive relationships outside of the classroom, which in return carries over to our relationship inside the classroom.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy being active and traveling. I can never sit still and like to always be doing something. My favorite activity is doing BreakOut Games. I haven’t lost one yet! I also enjoy coaching my high school soccer girls. I love coaching and the game of soccer.

If I could have a superpower, I would like to have super speed. I would be just like Flash, I would be able to accomplish so many different things all in one day. I could run so fast that most people wouldn’t be able to see me. I am very active, so I feel like this superpower would help me to accomplish all of the many things I need to complete in a day’s work!
