How long have you been teaching? 18 years
Why did you become a teacher? I had amazing Spanish teachers who instilled an interest in Spanish language and cultures, and I wanted to do what they did for me for others.
What has been the best part of teaching that you didn’t expect when entering the profession? When I started teaching, I knew I loved Spanish. It didn’t take long for me to understand, though, that the best part of teaching is the students.
What is one thing you wish non-teachers knew about what you do? I wish non-teachers knew how much teachers genuinely care about our students.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment as a teacher? The privilege of being able to make a difference, big or small, in any student’s life is my greatest accomplishment as a teacher.
What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t teaching? I love traveling, playing music and spending time with my family and dogs.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Hawaii and Delaware (the only two states I haven’t been to yet)
