I became a public school teacher because after I retired from the military I wanted to continue to serve the community. Becoming a teacher was the best way to do this. Teachers make people’s lives better.

My favorite thing about being a teacher is that there is always that hard to reach kid. When you can make a connection with that kid, and find a way to reach him, it is amazing.

When I’m not at school, you’ll find me working as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer.

If I had a superpower, it would be helping kids learn how to read for FUN!
