Why did you become a teacher? I became a teacher to empower learners to be a voice for their community and to be disrupters of systems that disenfranchise people.
What has been the best part of teaching that you didn’t expect when entering the profession? I feel like I’ve been teaching so long, I’m not really caught off guard by the profession.
What is one thing you wish non-teachers knew about what you do? Teachers like myself have families! We have a life outside of the bell to bell even though we so often bring home what is happening in our classrooms.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment as a teacher? My greatest accomplishment as a teacher was making my dream of being a middle school teacher, which started all the way back in high school, come true.
Favorite thing to do when you aren’t teaching? I love to watch anime, read, cook and go for hikes in the local parks.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? The power to speak any language! I feel like I could get so much done!
