School: Warner Elementary, Jessamine County
Grade/Subject: 1st-5th Art
Years of Experience: 21

I left an industrial career to reconnect with my college roots in the arts. I thought it might be temporary. That was 21 years ago.

My favorite thing about teaching are the student Art Shows and displays!! It is so exciting to see work shared with the community. I love seeing families come and enjoy the work.

My favorite thing to do when I am not teaching is collecting action figures. In particular, I love Star Wars action figures and toys. I am grateful that I got to grow up with them in the 1970’s and 80’s. Toys are great to use your imagination with, and I believe it helped me be a more creative person.

If I could have a superpower, I would have the ability to fly!! It would be great to be able to get around traffic. My real desire to fly started when I was a kid and constantly got Frisbees stuck up on our roof by accident. I wanted to be able to fly so I didn’t have to wait for my parents to get a ladder and climb up to get them.
