16 KAR 5:040, requires cooperating teachers and university supervisors to complete a training on the basic responsibilities of a cooperating teacher/university supervisor. Part A of this training is provided by the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness (OELE) through an online format. Each cooperating teacher and university supervisor is required to complete the online training prior to starting a placement. Please reference the Part A Training Link for access to this training.
Once the course has been completed the cooperating teacher candidate will be provided a certificate of completion. The cooperating teacher candidate may then upload their certificate on the Kentucky Educator Credentialing System (KECS) by clicking the Profile tab and then selecting the Coop Teacher link under the General section on the left side of the screen.
