I became a teacher because the teachers at my elementary school were invested in my life and wanted to see me succeed. They helped not only in my academic life but in my personal and spiritual life. In my classroom, we are kind to each other. I teach students how to apologize and why they should do so. I teach them how to work together to solve a problem, relationally or academically, because when students feel included in the community, they are willing to work and grow.
