Public education greatly impacted my family. My grandmother grew up on the border of Mexico and Arizona where her native language was Spanish. When her oldest sibling enrolled in public school her immediate family began learning English. I know the power education can bring for generations, especially for multilingual families. I love being a part of students’ journeys as they learn and gain confidence in their abilities.
