I have always felt called to be a teacher, but my mentors inspired me to stay in this profession and love what I do. Mrs. Spratt, a passionate social studies colleague, showed me how to bring history to life, keeping students so engaged they never wanted to leave the classroom. She also encouraged me to pursue the Kentucky Teacher of the Year process and has supported me constantly. Her enthusiasm and mentorship taught me how powerful it is to uplift and inspire others. She is like family, and I am eternally grateful for her guidance. Because of her, I am passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences and supporting my colleagues so we can all thrive in this incredible profession.

I love teaching because every day is different, and I get to share the joy of seeing my students grow academically and as people. It is incredible to witness their curiosity spark and their confidence build. Teaching gives me a chance to make a difference, to laugh, learn, and celebrate alongside my students as they discover their potential.
