I always wanted to be a teacher, but I don’t think I truly knew what that meant until I was in college. I was an average student in high school: I earned Bs and an occasional A or C. I wasn’t a behavior problem, but I definitely didn’t try my hardest. I had amazing teachers in high school, one of whom pushed me toward English, but overall, it was a typical high school learning environment. In college, I really fell in love with education. I knew I wanted to help shape young minds and help students grow, learn, and realize their full potential: find a passion and run with it. I believe that is my why: to help students find a passion and run with it, use that passion to make the world a better place.
