Why I Teach
I teach because it’s the path that God clearly laid out for me. Throughout my own education, I found myself helping others understand material and improve their work in the classroom. Watching their success—and knowing I played a small part in it—filled me with pride and purpose. Now, as a teacher, I get to experience that joy every day. I have the privilege of guiding students, witnessing their growth, and celebrating their victories alongside them. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing others succeed. I believe the best approach to life is to serve others rather than yourself. Teaching offers that opportunity every single day—it’s a calling that allows me to build others up and make a lasting impact on both individuals and the community as a whole.
Throughout my educational journey, several teachers deeply influenced my decision to become an educator. Interestingly, many of them encouraged me to explore other professions, yet it was their kindness, patience, and genuine care that left a lasting impression on me. They didn’t just teach lessons—they invested in me as a person, showing up beyond the classroom through extracurricular activities and personal support. Those relationships showed me the power of a teacher’s impact, and I knew I wanted to be that person for others.
Today, I have the privilege of doing just that. I get to support my students both academically and personally, and I strive to create programs and opportunities that I didn’t have growing up. What continues to drive my passion is the chance to open doors for students—to help them see their potential and ensure they have every opportunity to succeed. Teaching allows me to do that every single day, and that’s what makes this profession so meaningful to me.
