How long have you been teaching? I am in my 9th Year of Teaching
Why did you become a teacher? Music was/is an important aspect of my life and provided so many different opportunities and I wanted to be able to provide those experiences to other students!
What has been the best part of teaching that you didn’t expect when entering the profession? The friendships and camaraderie that you develop with your fellow colleagues!
What is one thing you wish non-teachers knew about what you do? We work well beyond our contracted hours. Our profession doesn’t begin and end with the school bells. We care about our students. We want to do our jobs well. It requires more than clocking in and out.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment as a teacher? When students continue to incorporate music into their lives in some way even after high school.
What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t teaching? Traveling!
