I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference, especially working with at-risk students.
My favorite thing about being a teacher is interacting with our young people. I have had the privilege of working with students at all grade levels over my 18 years in the field. One thing these students have in common is that they end up teaching me something I can use to help another student.
When I’m not at school, you’ll find me watching sports! I’m an avid sports fan. Go Cats! When I am not watching sports networks or listening to KSR, you’ll find me reading a book or driving on I-64 to visit my kids living out their adult lives.
If I could have a superpower, it would be the ability to end emotional and generational poverty that so many of our young folks have to endure.
