Initial Certified Evaluation Training

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is the official provider for the Initial Certified Evaluation Training for administrators newly assigned the role of evaluator of certified personnel, as required by KRS 156.557 and 704 KAR 3:370 . This two-day learning experience is designed to promote the evaluation process as a vehicle to positively impact teacher effectiveness and student learning.

Each year KDE’s Principal Partnership Project Leadership Development Specialists will refine and update the training to reflect current research-based best practices and the most recent legislation that impacts the process. The two-day training, including the assessment, is required for all new evaluators of certified personnel prior to completing a formative or summative evaluation.

In order to lift the financial burden from local districts, there is no fee to participate in the required training and EILA credit will be awarded for completing all training requirements.
